Back to Her Roots

Orinda, California

Our client loved the lot up the street from her daughter’s family’s home, but really wanted a home reminiscent of her Venezuelan heritage, so she hired us to transform the existing 1950s era “rancher” house. We designed a hacienda style home, with thick stucco walls, cooling tower, and open courtyard room.

As well as reflecting her cultural roots, the home was designed to accommodate her lifestyle: suited to formal entertaining but with a casualness that would be comfortable for her young granddaughters and the everyday activities she would share with them.
